Save to PinterestThe elf tradition runs for most of December, and coming up with a new note every night takes effort. This kit writes them for you. There are 24 numbered notes, one for each morning until Christmas Eve, and many of them give your child a small kindness challenge for the day.
December tends to throw in a few surprises, so there are six notes for those too: the elf is running late, someone touched it, its magic has been restored, it didn't move, it's away for the day, or Santa has a message. Six blank notes cover anything else. That's 36 notes in all, six to a page.
The letters handle the start and the end. A new elf arrives with an introduction letter, a returning elf brings an "I'm Back" letter, and a goodbye letter goes out on Christmas Eve. In between, you have an elf rules poster with seven rules, a certificate for naming the elf, a passport with travel stamps and a space to draw the elf, and a report to Santa that rates eight skills in stars. A guide for grown-ups lists ten easy hiding spots.
In the print dialog, set the scale to Actual size (100%). Notes printed on card stock can stand up next to the elf. Plain paper is best for the letters, so they fold like real mail. No elf doll is included.
