Editable Elf Arrival and Goodbye Letters

A visiting Christmas elf has three big days. There's the first morning, when the elf arrives. In later years there's the return. On Christmas Eve the elf says goodbye. You get a letter for each of them, with the children's names at the top ("Dear Lily and Max") and your elf's name in the signature.

The Arrival and I'm Back letters include a box of up to five elf rules, which you can rewrite to fit your house. The Goodbye letter lists up to five favorite things you did together that December. Each letter already has its own wording, and if you'd like to write it yourself, you can replace it with up to 800 characters and end with a P.S. If you write more, the font shrinks to keep the letter on one page.

Choose one of three designs for all three letters. Candy Stripe has a red and white border with holly. Snowy Night has a navy sky with a moon and a sleigh. Airmail looks like kraft paper with a stamp, a postmark and a wax seal. You edit in your browser with a live preview and download a PDF of the letter you're working on.

In the print dialog, set the scale to Actual size (100%). Plain printer paper works; cream paper or light card stock of 65 to 80 lb (176 to 216 gsm) looks more like mail from the North Pole. The elf can leave it by the tree or in a Christmas Eve box: it folds in thirds into a standard envelope.
