Editable Memorial Prayer Card

The front of the card holds a photo of your loved one, their full name and the dates, under a short line such as "In Loving Memory" or "Celebrating the Life of". Upload a portrait photo and use the zoom slider to crop in closer to the face. A long name wraps onto two lines.

For the back you choose a reading from a list instead of typing it out. You can pick "Remember" by Christina Rossetti, "Crossing the Bar" by Tennyson, an Irish blessing, the Hail Mary, the Eternal Rest prayer (for her or for him), or Psalm 23, John 14:1-3 and the Lord's Prayer in the King James Version. You can also type your own words of up to 700 characters under a title of your choice, or leave the reading off. Under the reading you can repeat the name and dates, and there's room for a closing line such as "Until we meet again".

There are four designs. Classic Ivory has cream paper, a thin double frame and an arched photo. Olive Branch is white with drawn olive branches and a round photo. Navy & Gold has a navy front with gold lines. Simple Cross is plain white with a small cross and a soft blue frame. When the text on a side runs long it gets a little smaller, and if it still doesn't fit, the editor points to the part to shorten.

In the print dialog, set the scale to Actual size (100%). Print page 1 with the fronts, turn the sheet over and feed it back in for page 2; on a duplex printer, pick "flip on long edge". A first test on plain paper, held up to the light, shows whether the backs line up. Anything from 176 to 300 gsm works (65–110 lb cover), on matte card stock. Cut on the crop marks with a paper trimmer. For a large service, a print shop can print the single-card file double-sided at 2.5 x 4.25 in.
