The classic White Elephant rules fit on one sign, and this kit has that sign: seven steps in large print, with lines for the budget and the date. Players draw a number card for their turn order, then open a new gift or steal one that's already open. A gift is locked after its third steal, and small tags with three stars help everyone keep count.
The host guide also lists three other versions, each with its player counts and playing time. The dice game runs in two rounds. In the first, each number on the die means pick a gift, swap or pass. In the second, players steal and swap while a timer runs for 5 to 10 minutes, and whoever holds a gift when it rings keeps it. The LEFT-RIGHT stories are read aloud while the gifts move around the circle, and there is one for family and friends, one for the office and one for kids. The 24 twist cards add rules like "Trade with the player who traveled the farthest to be here."
A gift tracker with 22 rows lets the host note who has what and how many times each gift was stolen. The kit suits groups of 5 to 40.
