The kit helps a child do three things: name a feeling, see how big it is and pick a way to calm down. The feelings chart has 24 faces to point to, and a simpler chart with nine big faces suits toddlers. The feelings wheel starts from six core feelings and adds 24 more exact words for older kids. A scale from 1 (tiny) to 5 (huge) shows how big the feeling is.
Then comes the calm down part. There's a Calm Down Corner sign, a poster with five steps for the calm corner, and a chart of 12 calm down ideas. A binder ring or a small box keeps the 24 calm down cards and 8 breathing cards together. Four trace-and-breathe boards shaped like a star, a square, a rainbow and a figure 8 give a child something to follow with a finger while they breathe.
For talking it through, there are 24 feelings cards, 12 "How would you feel?" scenario cards and worksheets: where a feeling shows up in the body, a personal calm down plan, a Today I Feel page and a feelings journal. It suits home, preschool, a classroom or a counselor's office. The kit supports everyday talk about feelings and isn't therapy or medical advice.
