Family history software keeps the data, but a lot of people still think better with a chart on the table and a pencil in hand. This kit is for filling in a family tree by hand, from the first four generations you already know to the lines you are still chasing through old records.
Each pedigree chart carries a chart number, and every person in the last column has a small line for the chart where that branch continues. Numbers follow the usual ahnentafel order, where a father's number is twice his child's and a mother's is twice plus one, so the fan chart and the pedigree charts use the same numbers and a note on one sheet can point to the other.
The rest of the pages are for the research itself. A family group sheet covers a couple and up to ten children, an individual record holds one ancestor's life events, and the research log, source tracker and records checklist show what you have already searched, which document backs which fact, and what is still missing.
